"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

Today's the Day

Today is the day that I'm going to sit here and actually update my blog. I know, I'm a procrastinator when it comes to this blog thing. I figure, what do I have to say that anyone would really want to read? Probably not much. I haven't updated anything since before school started. I'm so bad! :)

Savannah is doing really good in 3rd grade. I never really have to worry about her academic wise. I don't have to remind her to study or do her work, for now anyways. I do believe when Cheyenne is in school it will be a whole different story. She will buck me about everything! Cheyenne is also loving "school". She goes to daycare pretty much everyday and loves it! They both are growing so much! Savannah has grow a foot just since summer. She is playing soccer, at least when it isn't raining. She has improved so much since last year. She is hustling and more aggressive. I'm very proud of her. Cheyenne is finally potty trained! Yahoo!!! No more diapers! She is doing really great with it. It really just clicked. Now, with that said, she does not like to go poopy in the potty. She will go somewhere and hide and do it in her pants. She finally pooped the 1st time in the potty Saturday. I hope that continues.

Me...not much here. I think I'm ready to go back to work, at least part time. I want to do something while the girls are in school that 1. makes me feel good about myself, 2. is also helping with bringing in some extra money. I've "started" back to on-line school for pharmacy technician and hope to get some job doing that, or finding me a x-ray job. It's hard finding any job nowadays, especially one that fits into school hours. I know, just go teach or sub, I can tell you from experience...NOT going to happen. Been there, done that! Not fun! Teachers are definitly a gift from God! I don't have their patience or creativity for that.

Bodie...Football season. That's all I need to say. :) We've went to Tuscaloosa twice for Alabama football. The other weekends are spent infront of the tube. Not sure about your guys, but mine watches ALL the games, all week long. Sometimes it's fun, sometimes frustrating.

Overall, we are all doing well. Now my focus is turning to all the holidays and what I want to do, and what I have to do. I love this time of year! Cooler weather, fall colors, fires in the fireplace, and hot food! Love it all! Hope to be back on here soon. I will eventually download some pics!
Just incase I don't get on here in a while: Happy Halloween! Happy Thanksgiving! Merry Christmas! and Happy NewYear! I think that has it all covered. ;)

Summer Vacation?

What happened to summer vacations? You know, where you sleep late, go to the beach, generally do nothing. That definitly wasn't the case this year. Personally this has been the craziest, busiest and I guess I should say most stressful summer so far. Where do I start? I think it would be easier to say what didn't happen. :) We started off with finishing up softball season and then VBS. Then we found out there was swim lessons, so we did that. It wouldn't be summer if someone didn't get sick. So we start in on Dr. appts. and a month on antibotics to clear up Cheyenne's ear infection. Well, we were renting a house that ended up selling, so we had a couple of weeks to find a new house and move. That was crazy, because during that time Cheyenne had to get tubes in her ears and I was playing church volleyball. We moved the week of the 4th of July and we then had friends come and stay for a week our first week in the new house. Whew! Is that enough yet? I mean that was only the first month of summer vacation, but no there is more. Well, wouldn't you know it, my transmission goes out of the suburban so we are down to 1 car. No fun there. Had to get up early to take hubby to work and had more appts to go too! I was without my car for 3wks! During that time my mom had a TIA (mini-stroke) and was in the hospital and I didn't get to finish my volleyball season. I hated that because it was sooo much fun. So, we finally end the summer with my husband finally taking a week off to visit family, go to Chattanooga for 2 days and celebrating Savannah's 8th birthday and throwing her a party. Tomorrow is the 1st day of school and I'm looking forward to it! Not the early mornings and homework, but hopefully some normal days and getting to be back in a routine. I'm also looking forward to some me time.

Perfect Day at the Lake

Yesterday was a perfect day at the lake. My Dad has a camper at Bay Springs Campground. We've had it forever. Dad is usually up there every weekend, and since we've moved back home, we are too. Anyways...My best friend Christie, her husband Adam and their 2 boys Quinton and Travis came up. It's the first time we've been there together since we first got married 14 yrs ago. The kids range in age from 11 to 2 yrs. old. They had a blast! We went for a boat ride and took the kids tubing. I have never tubed, but I did yesterday! I did it with Savannah the first time to make sure she wouldn't be scared. It wasn't long before she kicked me out and went solo. I was so proud of her! She wasn't even scared! We went over to Yellow Creek and swam on the sandbar and then went to the waterfall. It was a great day and ended with a great fish fry dinner. This is what life is about. Slowing down, having fun like we did when we were kids, and being with loved ones. I hope to have many more of these days this summer. I hope you will too!

Naming My Blog

Creating blogs is so time consuming. Who would have thought it? Trying to decide on a name, that I'm going to be stuck with. It's like naming my 3rd child. I thought about "On the Road Again". Those who know us would say it's a good one. We seem to move more than the military. I really wanted something that spoke to how we believe God has guided our moves and is planning our map of life. Some moves have been fun and exciting, some have been hard and depressing. All in all though, each move has brought us together as a family and gotten us to the next place on God's map for us. I can look back and see his hand on our lives and blessing us along the way. Of course when your in the middle of a change, it's not always so easy to see or understand why he wants us here or there. I believe though that God is in charge and I have to be willing to follow where ever he leads me. That's why I picked Jeremiah 29:11 for my quote; "plans to give you hope and a future". As you can tell though, I didn't find a title that fit that, so I just picked 3 girls and a guy. That describes us enough. Now, I have to find my inner writer.
